CHIP’d reaches a major commercial milestone as its smart golf ball technology moves from development into the hands of golfers.

CHIP’d has officially entered the commercial market.

The CHIP’d Golf mobile apps are now live on both iOS and Android, and orders from the company’s Early Adopter launch have shipped to customers.

Together, the milestones mark the culmination of years of research, engineering, product development and manufacturing required to bring CHIP’d Golf from an idea to a complete connected sports technology platform.

“This is an incredibly significant moment for CHIP’d,” said Josh Marris, co-founder and CEO of CHIP’d. “Developing the technology and proving that we could capture meaningful data from inside a golf ball was one challenge. Turning that technology into a product that could be manufactured at scale, connected to a complete software ecosystem and ultimately shipped to customers was another challenge entirely. Seeing CHIP’d Golf in our customers’ hands makes all of that work very real.”

Data From Inside the Golf Ball

CHIP’d Golf is a smart putting ball system powered by IntelliCore™, CHIP’d’s patented embedded sensing technology.

Unlike putting technologies that rely on external cameras, radar systems, instrumented mats or sensors attached to equipment, CHIP’d captures motion data directly from inside the golf ball.

The system measures key characteristics of every putt, including initial speed, initial spin, skid distance, true roll, putt length and outcome, with data transmitted wirelessly to the CHIP’d Golf mobile app.

Golfers can use CHIP’d on indoor putting surfaces, practice greens and other suitable putting environments without changing the way they normally practice.

The CHIP’d Golf App Is Now Live

With the CHIP’d Golf apps now available for compatible iOS and Android devices, golfers can connect directly to their CHIP’d smart golf balls and turn every putting session into measurable performance data.

The initial release includes the Launch Monitor mode which allows players to record putting sessions, review individual putts and performance metrics, and track tendencies over time. Future updates will introduce drills and challenges, allowing golfers to participate in training activities designed around measurable improvement.

The launch of the mobile apps completes the first commercial CHIP’d ecosystem: intelligent equipment, wireless communication, mobile software, cloud infrastructure and performance analytics working together as one connected platform.

From Early Adopters to Commercial Launch

CHIP’d opened its Early Adopter program before entering full production, giving a limited group of customers an opportunity to become some of the first golfers to own and use the technology.

Those customers supported CHIP’d while the company completed the transition from working prototypes to production hardware, finalized its mobile applications and established the manufacturing and quality-control processes required for a product containing electronics embedded permanently inside a golf ball.

With Early Adopter fulfillment complete, CHIP’d is now preparing its next production release.

“Those first customers believed in what we were building before they could hold the finished product in their hands,” Marris said. “We’re incredibly grateful for that support. They will always be an important part of the CHIP’d story.”

Golf Is the Beginning

While CHIP’d Golf is the company's first commercial product, the technology at its center was designed with a much broader vision.

IntelliCore™ is an embedded technology platform developed to capture data directly from inside sports equipment and connect that equipment to software, analytics and other devices.

Golf represents the first commercial application of that platform and one of its most demanding engineering challenges: integrating electronics into a ball while maintaining the size, weight, balance and performance characteristics expected by the athlete.

The same core technology is being developed for applications beyond golf as CHIP’d continues its mission to connect equipment, data and athletes across sports.

“CHIP’d Golf is important to us for much more than the launch of one product,” Marris said. “It is the first commercial validation of the platform we have spent years building. We believe there is an enormous opportunity when the equipment itself becomes capable of capturing and communicating data.”

The Next Chapter

With its first commercial products now in customers’ hands, CHIP’d is moving into its next stage of growth.

Production of the next CHIP’d Golf release is underway as the company continues development of the software platform, training experiences and future applications of IntelliCore technology.

CHIP’d made its PGA Show debut in Orlando with a week that included packed demonstrations, industry recognition, media attention and the 2026 Pinnacle Award.

The 2026 PGA Show represented an important moment for CHIP’d.

After years spent developing the technology behind a golf ball capable of measuring its own movement, CHIP’d arrived in Orlando ready to introduce the finished concept to the broader golf industry.

For three days, PGA Professionals, coaches, media, industry executives and golfers had the opportunity to see CHIP’d Golf and its patented IntelliCore™ technology firsthand.

The response exceeded our expectations.

Introducing CHIP’d Golf to the Industry

CHIP’d Golf was developed around a simple idea with an extraordinarily difficult engineering challenge behind it: what if the golf ball itself could measure what happens during a putt?

IntelliCore™ embeds sensing and wireless technology directly inside the ball, allowing CHIP’d Golf to capture performance data from the movement of the ball itself and communicate that information to the CHIP’d Golf mobile app.

At the PGA Show, attendees were able to see the technology in action and learn how CHIP’d measures putting performance including speed, launch, spin, skid, true roll, distance and putt outcome.

For CHIP’d, the Show provided something equally valuable: the opportunity to put years of engineering work in front of the people who teach, play and build businesses around the game.

Throughout the week, the CHIP’d booth attracted a steady stream of visitors interested in seeing how embedded technology could change the way putting performance is measured and understood.

One of the Busiest Booths Golf Digest Saw

CHIP’d also attracted the attention of some of golf’s leading media outlets.

Golf Digest included CHIP’d in its roundup of “The coolest stuff we saw at the 2026 PGA Merchandise Show,” highlighting the decade-long development journey behind the technology and describing CHIP’d as a smart golf ball capable of providing launch-monitor-style putting data.

Perhaps most meaningful to our team, Golf Digest noted that CHIP’d had “one of the busiest booths we witnessed” at the Show.

For a company making its PGA Show debut, seeing that level of interest from both attendees and the media was significant validation of the problem we had spent years working to solve.

CHIP’d Receives the Pinnacle Award

The week concluded with another major milestone.

CHIP’d Golf received the Pinnacle Award as part of the Inventors Spotlight at the 2026 PGA Show.

Organized in partnership with the United Inventors Association, the Inventors Spotlight showcased nearly 50 inventions and emerging products during the Show. CHIP’d was selected for the Pinnacle Award, recognizing overall excellence and forward-thinking design.

The award was a fitting conclusion to a week that gave our team its first opportunity to demonstrate CHIP’d Golf at scale to the industry.

Ten Years in the Making

The attention CHIP’d received in Orlando did not happen overnight.

Golf Digest highlighted the approximately ten-year journey behind the technology — a period involving countless iterations, engineering challenges and lessons about what it takes to place electronics inside a golf ball.

The challenge has never simply been making electronics small enough to fit.

The technology has to capture useful data, communicate wirelessly and coexist with the physical characteristics expected from the sporting equipment around it.

CHIP’d co-founder and CTO Anil Agarwal perhaps summarized the moment best while speaking with Golf Digest at the Show:

“This is basically our iPhone 1. It’s just the beginning.”

That statement reflects how we view CHIP’d Golf internally.

The product demonstrated in Orlando represents the first commercial application of years of work developing embedded sensing technology for sports equipment. There is considerably more that we believe can be built from here.

More Than an Award

The Pinnacle Award was an incredible way to finish our first PGA Show, but the week meant much more to us than an award.

For years, we had been building CHIP’d largely behind the scenes, working through the engineering challenges and believing there was an opportunity to create something genuinely different. The PGA Show gave us the chance to put that work in front of the golf industry and see how people responded to it.

The interest throughout the week was something our team will never forget. PGA Professionals, coaches, media and people from across the industry spent time at our booth, watched the technology in action, asked questions and shared ideas about where they could see it going. To then receive recognition from Golf Digest, MyGolfSpy, the PGA Show and the United Inventors Association made the week even more meaningful.

For our team, it was validation that the industry is watching, that people are interested in what we're building, and that we're on the right track. After everything it took to get CHIP’d to that point, that recognition from the industry and golf professionals alike meant the world to us.

The 2026 PGA Show was a week we'll never forget. It was the moment we introduced CHIP’d to the golf industry, and the golf industry took notice.
