Warranty & Returns
Last Updated: August 2026
At CHIP’d, we stand behind our products and want you to have a great experience with your CHIP’d Golf balls. As an early-stage product, your experience and feedback also help us continue improving the technology, manufacturing process, and overall product.
The following policy explains our warranty, returns, refunds, product replacement, and end-of-life process.
30-Day Return Policy
If your CHIP’d product is not what you expected, you may request a return within thirty (30) days of the date of delivery.
To request a return, contact orders@chipdsports.com and include your name, order number, and the reason for your return.
Products must be returned to CHIP’d if requested before a refund or credit is issued. Unless the return is due to a defective or incorrect product, original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, and return shipping costs may be the responsibility of the customer.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.
Products that have been intentionally damaged, improperly used, modified, disassembled, or used in a manner inconsistent with CHIP’d product instructions or warnings may not be eligible for a refund or replacement.
12-Month Limited Product Warranty
CHIP’d warrants its physical products against material defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of delivery.
If your CHIP’d Golf ball or other CHIP’d hardware experiences a manufacturing defect or stops functioning as intended during the warranty period, please contact us at orders@chipdsports.com.
We may ask you to provide your order information, product registration information, photographs, diagnostic information from the CHIP’d app, or other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the issue.
If we determine that the product has a covered defect, CHIP’d may, at its discretion:
- repair the product;
- replace the affected product with the same or a comparable product; or
- provide a refund or credit where replacement or repair is not reasonably available.
CHIP’d may require the affected product to be returned before a replacement, refund, or credit is provided. Where CHIP’d confirms that a product is defective and requires its return, CHIP’d will provide return instructions and, where applicable, prepaid return shipping.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, abuse, improper storage, unauthorized modification or repair, failure to follow product instructions or warnings, or ordinary cosmetic wear that does not affect product performance.
Battery Life and Normal Battery Depletion
CHIP’d Golf balls contain an integrated battery with a finite operating life. Battery life will vary depending on usage, storage, environmental conditions, and other factors.
Normal depletion of the battery through use is considered part of the expected life cycle of the product and is not considered a defect covered by the 12-month limited warranty.
For example, a ball that reaches the end of its usable battery life after being regularly used as intended is not considered defective solely because the battery has been consumed, even if this occurs within the 12-month warranty period.
This exclusion does not apply where CHIP’d determines that a battery or related electronic component failed prematurely because of a defect in materials or workmanship. Such failures may be covered by the limited warranty.
End-of-Life Return & Replacement Program
Because CHIP’d Golf balls contain integrated electronics and batteries, we encourage customers to return products to CHIP’d when they reach the end of their usable life rather than disposing of them with ordinary household waste.
CHIP’d intends to offer an End-of-Life Return & Replacement Program that will allow eligible customers to return depleted CHIP’d Golf balls and receive a discount toward replacement products.
Details of this program, including eligibility requirements, replacement options, discount amounts, shipping procedures, and availability, will be announced separately as the program becomes available.
Until the program is formally launched, please contact orders@chipdsports.com if your CHIP’d Golf balls have reached the end of their usable battery life, and our team can advise you regarding currently available options.
Cosmetic Blemishes
Minor cosmetic variations may occur during the manufacturing process. Small marks, scuffs, surface variations, or other cosmetic imperfections that do not materially affect the performance, roundness, electronics, or intended operation of the product are not considered manufacturing defects for purposes of this warranty.
This does not affect any separate replacement commitment CHIP’d has specifically made to you, including the Early Adopter Grade C Replacement Program described below.
Early Adopter Grade C Replacement Program
As part of our initial production and early-adopter program, CHIP’d may provide certain customers with a set of golf balls that we have internally classified as Grade C.
Grade C balls have passed CHIP’d’s functional and performance QA requirements, including our applicable roundness and performance checks, but have cosmetic imperfections that do not meet our intended commercial cosmetic standard. These imperfections may include minor scuffs, surface marks, small material hairs, or similar cosmetic blemishes.
If CHIP’d has specifically identified your set as a Grade C set, you may use the balls normally while you wait for replacement inventory.
There is no additional charge for your replacement set.
When replacement inventory from a subsequent production run becomes available, CHIP’d will provide instructions for exchanging your Grade C set for a replacement set that meets our standard commercial QA requirements.
To receive the replacement set, you must return the Grade C balls originally provided to you. CHIP’d will provide return instructions and prepaid return shipping for the exchange.
The Grade C replacement program applies only to customers whose products have been specifically identified by CHIP’d as part of this program. CHIP’d maintains records of the products and customers included in the program.
Use of your Grade C balls before the replacement does not waive your eligibility for the replacement, provided the balls are used normally and are returned to CHIP’d as instructed.
Lost or Damaged Products
The CHIP’d warranty does not cover products that are lost, stolen, intentionally damaged, or damaged through use that is inconsistent with CHIP’d’s instructions, safety warnings, or intended product use.
Normal cosmetic wear resulting from use is also not considered a manufacturing defect.
If you experience an issue and are unsure whether it is covered, please contact us. We would rather review the issue with you than have you continue using a product that may not be functioning correctly.
